White Water Rafting!

Right there's something to talk about today! I did white water rafting! The experience itself was mindblowing! Out of this world! We had to wake up for 6am in the morning and on the coach ride down they start telling you about safety stuff! That scared me, by now the adrenalin was pumping all around the body and I was almost worried that I would be wetting myself! It's quite funny actually because when I 1st went on it, i thought oh this is just a tourist thing, nothing big, however as you get higher and higher into the mountains/rainforest, you realise there's no tourists around! Infact there's nobody around! It was quite scary as they said we may encounter crocidiles, dangerous spiders and venemous snakes! However once we got kitted up with helmets, and lifejackets, the fear subsided and turned into excitement! Me and Jeetan were paired up with 3 guys and 1 woman and 2 instructors. Once we got into the rafts, I realised just how beautiful everything was around here! It was like what you see in the movies! Think, Last of the Mohicans or Rambo or even Tropic Thunder! We were surronded by mountains and going down a high current river! There were many waterfalls around and lots of vegetation! Also lots of rock! The Tully, which was the river we were on is a grade 4 river. Rafting works in grades, 1 being easy and 6 being damn near impossible! We were on a grade 4 and had never rafter before! Once we got going though it was such a rush and we just bounced down the rapids, nearly capsized and paddled alot with the paddles! If you like the rapids at alton towers then multiply that by 1 billion and add the lil attribute that it's not entirely as safe as that. Believe me, there's plenty of room for injury especially on the rocks. Lots of cuts etc. Jeetan has some massive bruises! I came out unscathed luckily! However we didn't just get to raft we got the swim down the river with the current! Oh my word it was amazing! If you like lazy rivers at wet n wild, then multiply that also by 1 billion and thats what you have! The water was so clean as well! You have to be a strong swimmer though! Jeetan struggled heeavily and often got caught by the current! He almost fell out of the raft as well! Another thing we got to do was go under a waterfall! Last of the Mohicans style! I didn't jump off it like daniel day lewis don't worry! But it was beautiful underneath is and the power of the water is crazy! Put it this way, I would rather get a few slaps around the head from Grandad than go under it voluntarily and get caught by the water! The final thing I did has to be a personal highlight for me. I jumped off a really high rock/cliff into the water from really high up! Like you see in the films or in the james blunt music video for "your beautiful" (but with nicer water). It was crazy! I got to the end of the rock and though no way! I'm not doing this, but then my muscles took over before my mind could think and I just jumped! Tomorrow is the great barrier reef so rock on! Until then bye!

My second Video Blogcast!

Hello and greetings from Aus! This is a mega quick blog for you guys to check out. This is a video of my 2nd blogcast from the top of Cape Byron. Its not brilliant and very long but people were staring at me like I was a weirdo and I ran out of things to say! I really wanted to upload pics, however I have forgot the email addy for my flicker account! So what I may do is just upload them onto my facebook profile as most of you have that. I haven't had time to do that yet though. We have booked our flight to Cairns, and I have just spoken with a family member here that went there recently. Supposedly the climate there is Tropical! Compared to mid tropical as it is here in brissy. Also the sea is supposed to be so clear you can see to the bottom of the reefs! I am slightly apprehensive though! He said that when you dive into the reef, sharks sometimes are there, but are supposedly harmless! Also there's supposed to be these massive things called "goobers" that swim up next to you and have massive teeth, but supposedly don't harm humans. I am starting to think this is going to be quite scary! Having fish swim at you from all directions in the reef will be weird and quite creepy! However it's supposed to be beautiful there and part of me can't wait to go and check it out! Also the seafood there is supposed to be unreal so yum yum in my ever growing tum it seems! The weather here is crazy and somedays us "Pommies" can't even take the heat, it is abit of a killer. What's scarier is that in Cairns its even hotter! So i'm around just over half way through the holiday now and already dreading the killer flight back to England! Currently this is like a mini break before the second half of the trip in the tropical part of Aus. So I have another day left tommorow in which I will visit some family as I did today, then it's back on the gypsy path of travelling again. Anyway there's really not much to write about today as it's just been a chilling one at home, however I did play with the dog here, play badminton and teach the kids some football moves. So until then enjoy the video and speak to you soon.

I wrote a blog, I wrote a blog for you, and all the things you do and it was called...

Ok i'm back for another quick blogfest! I am back in Brisbane tomorrow and that will be for the last time as we fly off to Cairns after that and we are on the road until we return to the UK. What have I done in the last 24 hours? Let me think. Well i did it! I climbed cape Byron yesterday! Took a while actually but boy oh boy what a view from the top! We were very high up and saw the pacific ocean and dolphins and whales! It was awesome. It was a hard climb up actually and contrary to what you think Jaskiran I didn't sip milk and watch other people do it! I was up there climbing it myself! As a special treat for anyone that reads this blog, I filmed a second video blogcast from the top of the Mountain! I will upload it when I get back to brissy tommorow! So you too will be able to see what we saw back in the UK! It was a bit weird filming it, because everyone kept looking at me thinking I was come kind of reporter or something! I even had to do 2 takes! (that sounds cool doesn't it?) Anyway after that we went on a night out but this was the best so far. We basically had a flatparty! True backpacker style! We had our flatmates, there and some French girls there and we met some Aussie guys who were real cool (cos they liked football! they were big fans) and we put some songs on someguys ipod speakers and rocked out there for a while, whilst drinking! We have a balcony as well, so there were quite a few people there as well so it was all going off in our place oh yeah lol! I also have a few communication points to make! Love is not a universal language! They say it is! I don't know who "they" are but they are wrong! Football is a universal language! I'm not joking, its the best conversation ice breaker with girls or guys! Since I have been here there's been so much footie banter its been wikkid, and some of the aussies here know their football and love the premier league. Whilst on that topic, what a goal by ronaldo the other day hey? Wow! Oh and Benitez is out of order with his gestures to big Sam! (that one's for you dad!) My second communication point, my French isn't that bad! We had French speaking flat mates that spoke real good English, so we always spoke in English. However after a few drinks, The frenchman in me came out. It's not that bad actually and I think my French has improved since living with them! I could actually speak and understand them in French (School did teach me something then!). So that's that so far. Its out last night in Byron today and I will be sad to leave this place. We chilled on the beach today and played a little beach rugby and went in the sea. Now i'm deliberated staying up to watch the Man united v Everton match, its on at 2am here and will finish at 4am, and i have to be up for 8am to catch the coach out of here, so i'm not sure yet. Unfortunately I can't reply to all your comments in the blog so sorry but , I do read them all and love hearing from you all. To the person who is asking me to guess who there are, i'm guessing....Sukhi cha cha! I'm 150% sure it you. In response to your comment about mine and Jeetans' friendship being the same as dad and K's. Well I disagree, firstly me and Jeetan are the same age as each other, and though he may be a bit dopey he has his own mind which unfortunately K doesn't! Dad controls him like a robot! Until next time, bye for now and look out for pics and videos to be uploaded either tommorow or the day after. bye!

A quick hello from the Bay!

Ok I have to keep this post brief as I am paying for the net and money doesn't grow on trees! Plus i'm just about to climb a mountain! This is a response to all the ugly rumors written about me in the comments section! I can confirm it is true! I am getting married to a girl from india who has moved to Australia here, here name is "Manjula" and hopefully we will have a very happy life together. Keerat, I will get you a snow globe as soon as I see one, I haven't seen any yet because there's not many snowglobe shops where I am right now. Manolo! Your an idiot! Tell PP, once she actually starts messaging me herself, instead of making cookies and milk for paren then maybe I will message her back! Tell her friendship is a 2 way street! Ok and before I continue, I just want to say, I miss everyone back at home dearly, though you think i'm having a great time and that I probably don't think of you, I do, each and everyone of you. I miss being home quite a bit actually! I will also take this time to specially say Jaskiran, I miss you too ok! So you can start commenting on my blog again now moody!
There's so much to tell you about my stay here so far that I feel I would be short changing you if I rushed it, I would rather write about it at the weekend when I have some time. In short though, we have drank with Australia lads, the way Australian lads do, danced on tables all night long, danced on bars, been on the beach and played rugby, and now about to climb a mountain! Life is so chilled out in the place and it's beautiful, I will upload some pics when I can at the weekend. Manolo, I may do a video blogcast again but not with Jeetan in it! Unfortunately that boy has voiced his concern about having himself on the internet and doesn't want him in any of the blogs. I think it's stupid mentality personally, but then that is surely his mentailty no? It's quite bad though as I have many funny stories about him! Oh and I'm so over the moon Man U are through! Yeaaaahhh boy! So I now hope you all get ready to meet and greet my wife, she is very special to me and I hope you are all preparing for the wedding now! Navraj! Get ready to be my Schvallah! (Thats spelt so badly wrong)

Everybodys going surfing!!! surfin with the....COPS!

Ok I will have to keep this post brief, which will probably mean it being on 20 pages long this time! I'm off out tonight so have to get ready and start drinking etc so apologies for the hurried post. I will give you as always a quick update of my adventures. We ended up in surfers paradise! Its basically like Miami! Commercialized with palm trees and beaches. We spent some time on the beach, larked about however out main aim was to hit the town hard that night. You see surfers' is Australia's main part town will streets full of clubs and bars. I think we hit about 5 clubs that night! All in the space of a a few hours! Its free entry into alot of the clubs if you talk to the right people so we were sorted in that sense. We had a good night everything was going well, jeetan was tipsy and lets just say in Jeetan mode. Things were going well. So what happend next? Well we walked into a club paid the entry fee to get in which was about 2 or 3 pounds and as me and Jeetan both have bad bladders (yeah thats right, were the bladder boys) we both headed straight for the toilet when we got in. Next thing we know a bouncer follows us in. He starts questioning us about a missing envelope and wanted to search us. I knew we had nothing to hide so i let him. He found nothing and went. We carried on washing our hands and next thing we know 5 police officers surrond us in the toilets and ask us to leave the building as they wanted "a chat with us outside." About the same missing envelope. Apparently when we had paid the money to the lady at the kiosk an envelope full of money had gone missing and as we were the last people in, they thought it was us. I wasn't a happy bunny to say the least, everyone was staring at us in the club. However as i knew a thing or two about law, i know if your innocent the best thing to do is co-operate. If your guilty on the other hand don't say a word and call your lawyer (a lil tip for you all just incase). So they take us outside and search us again. I let them, they looked through our wallets etc and found nothing obviously! What really pissed me off was when they searched me again!!!! So now it was time to put my degree to use! I said to them in a politely agressive voice (if there is such a thing), "officer is there a problem here? you have searched us 3 times and found nothing, i'm a lawyer and i know all about the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and your powers to stop and search, i am fully aware you have acted ultra vires out of them powers and I have only co operated so you can see we are innocent! Now may you please release us as i have noted all your names down (i actually had, and i was drunk!) and am thinking about reporting you to your precinct"
Thats all it took! They suddenly had a changed look on their faces, apologised and started being all friendly with me asking me how long I had practised law (i said 2 years, blatant lie as we all know i'm currently a bum)then the manager gave us a free drink and everything. We left it there! So that was our adventure from last night.

This morning we arrived in Byron bay and place which i can only explain as heaven. It's beautiful in every sense of the word. It had beautful beaches , its set us up in the aussie mountains so when you are on the beach you can see them in the background , the weather has almost become too hot for us! however when you walk along the beach you get that cool sea breeze. Tommorow I am climbing Mount Byron and suppposeldy from the top you can see whales and Dolphins in the Pacific Ocean. I love it here, its my favourtie place so far. Hostel is brand new and very nice! I would actually have to say i'm in la la land right now! Ok before i leave you, i always try and leave you with something remotley funny. Today i will discuss shared toilets and showers! This is the 1st hostel I have stayed in where the boys and girls share the toilets and showers. Now guys you probably think this is cool right? NO! I went into the toilet today andwent for a number 1, as you do! In the next cubicle someone was having the biggest pooh of their life. I came out of my cubicle as they did theirs...it was a girl! That kind fo stuff really screws with your mind! I don't know if it's just me and I know girls are human just like men, however having to be in a cubicle listening to someone taking a dirty pooh and finding it was a girl really screwed me up! I haven't had any shared shower experiences yet lads, before you ask! So that, that for the time being, I will update the blog with pics at the weekend and am toying with the idea of recording a small short video blogcast from here, but i am not sure if i will, I'm having too much fun! Oh and before I go, this one is for the guys, I have shared rooms with Norwegian, Italian, French and Swedish girls so far! Jealous?

Ok so before I embark on my Journey to Surfers and Byron, I thought I would try something different! Probably a big mistake! This is my first video blogcast I like to call it! By the way I made that name up so I want it copyrighted! I look rough as hell in it as usual big beard et al. However I can assure you i'm just about to go shave! Let me know what you think of it anyway! Oh my I have just watched the vid one last time before it airs and boy oh boy do i look scruffy, rough and sound like a woman but oh well! Oh and be sure to check out the post below its all part of the same day I have just done this in 2 different posts. There's pics in the post below!

Sydney...we came, we saw, we conquered!

Hello again! Firstly let me get something out the way, I have uploaded some pics! Only 7 I think! However you can check them out from my flickr account page its like a website where you can check out my pics! The links :

Check em out and leave some comments letting me know how bad I look!

Right ok now back to the blog! So if i'm not mistaken, I left you last in Melbourne where we were about to get onto a 12 hour coach ride! I won't bore you with the details, but I will say this, It was horrible and I didn't have much sleep at all during it , it was all getting too much with the traveling and lack of sleep and I almost fell ill. I could feel my thorat, eyes and head hurt and could feel a cough coming on. Luckily I feel asleep just long enough to avoid it!

When we got to Sydney it was good Friday and we couldn't check into our hostel until 10am, and we were there at 7 am. So we spent 3 hours walking around a very quiet sydney! Its a very nice city, clean and beautiful! We walked up to the opera house and harbour bridge and it was a sight to behold! The sun had just come up it was reflecting off the water, Sydney itself was silent due to the lack of people there on good friday and in the horizon stood the opera house and the harbour bridge. I'm not usually one for this kind of the stuff, but the whole sight was beautiful. The view mixed with the silence really was something I won't forget for sometime, all you could hear was the water and the birds. I had to keep reminding myself that this was a capital city! The fact that i was thinking all this while still feeling hungover should give you an insight into how beautiful the sight really was!

We went back to our hostel checked in and went to the room. It seemed we were sharing it with some really messy girl her clothes seems to cover every corner in the bloody room! When we met her she was actually quite a nice girl and she was from Norway. We spent the 2nd half of the day in Sydney aquarium and once again i'm not one for all this animal stuff but we had a wikkid time in the shark tank and koala petting zoo thing and seein all this finding nemo clown fish! One thing that wrecked my whole evening without getting into too much detail was the amount of people crowdin round the tanks with cameras, in big families taking 5 million shots! It really started to piss me off why? because gues who it was? Chinese people! Millions of them all over the aquarium! That really hacked me off! They were all so rude as well pushing yout to get out of their shot without eveuing asking you politely! In the evening as the clubs etc were closed because it was good friday, we went for a nice meal by the harbour. Once again, i'm the type of person who loves my restaraunts and nice places and bars. This place was amaizng. It over looked the harbour at night. All the boats were all lit up in the harbour and it looked wikkid!

Anyway this blog has taken me 2 days to write due to computer problems so here's day 2 of Sydney. We woke up and went to manly beach. Basically we asked everyone there and the locals and they all said that Bondi beach was too commercialised and rubbish now and manly beach was cool and chilled out with more bars and food places on the beach. So we took a ferry down there. It was another beautiful sight. The ferry ride took about 30 mins to get to the beach and as we sailed out you could see the whole of sydney including the iconic opera house and harbour bridge, once again this was a sight to behold! When we came back we got to see the whole of Sydney lit up at night which was pretty cool aswell!

At night we went on a night out in Sydney. The club was cool and that, although it was pretty messed up. As in Sydney you get alot of people from India studying here. So then they come out on nights out after. It's messed up! They walk around like wannabe bollywood models and do some of the dodgiest dancing known to man. They try to copy dance moves like the worm and stuff and it just doesn't look right. Then they start body popping, don't get me started on that! Luckily they haven't attempted the robot yet. What makes it funnier is that they are REALLY dark and have dodgy Moustaches! Anyway the night out was ok, nothing special, we then went to sleep at 3am and had to get up at 5am to catch our plane back to Brissy. It's safe to say when we got back we looked like dead dogs, and thats complimenting us!

Anyway I will do a small bit on what happen when we got to brissy (which is the family house we were staying in before we left). We got back, showered, slept for 5 hours, woke up and ate! Then this is when stuff got messed up! Some random woman came over to our house that my family knew and heard me speak punjabi and was impressed or something. Next thing I know arrangements are being made for my supposed marriage! Thats right this woman tried attempting to set me up with some girl she knew. So I was polite with her, laughed it off and got the hell out of that room! That wasn't that last I heard of it, as my family then proceeded to take it further in a serious manner! I kind of deflected it now I think though (for the time being!). What's the best thing about coming back to brisbane though? The fact that I can drink milk again! Yay!

"Thats when good Neighbourssss becomeeee goooood friends"

Ok i'm not going to lie! I am writing this blog hungover! Not a nice feeling and I have just come off the neighbours tour today as well. It was a big one with the lads last night! We hit a few bars and drank way too much and now I feel dead! We hit a really cool bar last night called "section 8" and it was basically a basketball court converted into an outdoor bar! It was really cool, with cool lighting and seats! Before I continue, I just want to say you guys are probably thinking i'm in la la land right now aren't ya? Yes it's been good but this kind of traveling does have it's fair share or "rough living" by that i mean, loads and loads of walking, public transport!, disgusting dirty people, malnutrition and lack of sleep! Some days we just feel dead! However the show must go on!

So I woke up this morning and felt horrible, Jeetan was in a hurry to check out of the hostel so we wouldn't miss our neighbours tour bus! I think I peeed him off because I was leisurely taking my time getting ready and he was getting impatient! We dragged ourselves onto the tour bus and the first thing we noticed was that it was just all girls on the bus! Now is that a good thing or a bad thing? Good yes because its a bus full of girls and nature tells us girls like boys so yippee! Bad thing because social studies and soceity tell us that doing feminine things makes us look gay! This whole gay vibe keeps following us around its scary! Roy the german gay, gaytime icecreams and now gay tours such as neighbours! I blame Jeetan is was his idea! Anyway we did the spiel, checked out the street its on, took lots of pics, saw some of the sets, then met up with this actor that is in it, but not anymore I think? Stingray? Sky's boyfriend or something like that? I don't know anyway chatted with him for a bit, got a pic with him and that was that. It actually was more interesting than that, but i'm not at my most discriptive right now! Weather has been good here currently, nice and sunny! So we are off to Syndey today! Another city...Joy to the world! It's a 12 hour coach ride there! Now there's a bugger of a journey! The amount of time we have spent on transport since we have been here is amazing! It took us 50 hours just to get from birmingham to brisbane. We have been on internal flights, coachs, buses, trams, sky shuttles, cars..... the list goes on! Hopefully soon a boat when we get to the islands! Pics will be uploaded soon as well by the way, i'm waiting to get back to brisbane before they get uploaded. I'm thinking of using a flicker account so i will post the link on here and all you guys have to do is click on it! I'm wasting time talking rubbish now i think?

Just before I leave, I have been keeping up to date with the football. I tell you what, I have realised I can't live without it. Everday I just wanna watch the reds play or even go out and play some footie myself! No one here really does that though! So unfortunately as we need energy and sleep I cant watch any of the matches because they are on like 4am here. Everyday though i'm forever going on the net checking out scores, headlines and how my teams doing! I have to say wasn't too happy with the result the other day and it will be a hard match away at porto. Hopefully most of you will know i'm building up to something here because I don't usually talk about football on here. Why? Anyone watch Liverpool last night? Ha ha! What a result! What a result! I won't say anymore now because I am afraid the comments you Liverpool guys write will soon turn into words of hate! This whole post seems rubbish and disjointed am i right? Can you tell i'm hungover?

And on that note I bid you all farewell until next time! I think net in Sydney may be hard to get hold of or too expensive to I may not be on here till sunday....I think! Muks the answer to the footie question was Nicholas Anelka and good to hear from you again mate, I paid homage to Madge Bishop but it's all about Harold really! Manish! Enough of your gay comments on my blog! People will actually start thinking I'm gay! Good to hear from you though and why havent you been in touch? Deeto! Good to hear from you man, sorry I missed your call in Brisbane, we were out, but i really appreciate you calling and I will be back in Brisbane on Sunday so maybe give us a shout then?Mum and dad hope your well, keep calling as you do it's good to hear voices from back home. Jaspal you lazy pooh! Get out of bed early one day or get off the xbox one night and talk to me on the phone! Thats enough now I think! Bye!

Night swimming

Ok i'm back here again seeing as i'm getting free net access so I can give you a quick update of what happen last night and what we are doing today. Last night we went to the comedy festival and saw a standup act names Reginald D Hunter. He's a black comedian from the states but lives in the UK. I thought I would go there and be like "ok this guy is funny, but nothing special" but he was hillarious! He came out with some good jokes and played on the racial terms related with black people such as "nig nog" he seemed to think that this wasn't offensive and suggested it sounded more like something black people would drink at Christmas! Ok that didn't sound funny but when he said it, it was. Anyway we had a great time there , then a few of the guys I went with went down to the Casino. This is supposed to be the biggest in the whole of Australia. Having not really gone to a casino I was amazed when I saw this place! Jeetan was in heaven like a true chinese man! This place was really lavish and massive! It looked like vegas and took over around 10-15 mins to walk from one side to the other! There were bright lights and and lots of water features etc in there, loads of food places, it really was a sight to see! Jeetan and some of the other guys had a gamble and all won. Don't worry mum and dad I wasn't tempted! I already have bad luck as it is, no need to prove it by wasting more money right?!We then just went back chatted for a few people around there and went to sleep. I had my first good sleep in a hostel! I got in 7 hours! GET IN! Oh and by the way (random fact coming up) the showers here are weird, its like the nozzle is the nozzle from a watering can! So you feel like your being watered by a watering can when you have a shower, its a weird feeling!

As a side note many of you will want to know about the soap opera about "Roy the German Gay." Well I can tell you, he's not backpacking, he's on holiday here to meet his boyfriend or some rubbish. The funny thing is, he must have had a fight with his boyfriend and they split up and now Roy the German Gay has another boyfriend in the space of about 2 days! They are a promiscous lot there homosexuals aren't they? What even weirder is this other boyfriend works at the hostel, so has the key card to all the rooms. By the way the key card system is the same as the ones used in Goldsmith court in notts so all My Gsmith peeps out there lol! Anyway onto more pressing matters! This new boyfriend just barges in to our room without even knocking with his all access keycard! He usually comes in to look for Roy who's never there, but this guy is creepy also. So the rest of us lads in the room feel quite scared! Upesh calls him "Gunter," but none of us know what his names is, but he's from germany also. And thats all you need to know about Roy the German Gay!

Woke up this morning and we are now planning the rest of the trip and having to book things! I should be researching hostels and coach journeys and flights etc but instead im writing this! We go to Sydney on Thursday and we also have a neighbours tour to go see in Melbourne yet. The coach journey from Melbourne to Syndey is 12 hours! how delightful! We have made some good friends here and it will be kind of sad to leave them but as a backpacker i met here said, "unfortunately when you backpack, you have to have disposable friends as you only usually have a few days to get to know them." This is so true but there's always facebook i guess! Ok so its our last day here in Melbourne to leave before we go on the coach journey from hell so wish me luck. Once again thank you for all your comments! Muks I will take your advice and see how we get on! Poons thanks for your words of encouragement and Zuggy Poah! Its nice to hear from you! Don't worry about Roy, he has a boyfriend! Oh and the air hostess is just a friend for all you devious minded people out there! Also a quick message to my Uncle SSK, thought you maybe disgusted we didn't finish a bottle between the 3 of us, it was a litre, we had come off a plane, were tired, felt sick and also had a 20 hour flight ahead of us, this wasn't like a dugoo trip to the wheatie! Speak soon and keep commenting!

Branching out...

Ok so i'm back again to give you all a quick update about what has been going on since we last met! Currently I am in Melbourne Library using the internet here because its free for an hour (aren't I a good backpacker) instead of paying at the hostel! The library itself is amazing its more like a museum than a boring old library! It even has an art gallery and you can get lost in here
! Cool hey?

So we set off on our first trip away from home comforts yesterday and arrived in Melbourne yesterday! Our backpacks weighed a ton, and I only wished I had done more back excercises at the gym that arms and chest because I could really do with a strong back right now! Our flight here was short and pleasant and we even got leather seats! We then caught the shuttle down to the hostel. Now I will admit for at least the first 6 hours of yesterday after seeing hostel living it kind of hit me and I was like, " Oh Harpal you stupid stupid boy! what have you gone and hot yourself into now! You didn't think this through properly you raving idiot!" However that feeling since has subsided....I think!

The Hostel itself is nice but basic, its just some very basic and very creaky bunk beds with a toilet and shower which isn't so bad. However there's no chance of any privacy! My room mates I met quite early on, Jeetan was quite shy and since i'm good as socialising I did the honours or introducing myself and meeting everyone. My room mates consist of an indian man named Upesh a lad from Essex who looks like Naveen Andrews out of lost, a guy named Dom, who's from Bournemouth and seems to slag off England at an possible time , a german guy names Roy and A North Korean girl whos name I forgot and she can't speak English.

Upesh was really good and as Jeetan described him was like a "walking, talking tour guide", he knew everything there was to know about everything and was a very experienced traveller and he showed us the ropes to getting use to backpacking life. We then went downstairs to the bar with the intent of meeting new people. However things didn't initially pan out like that , the bar wasn't exactly kicking and all the people that were there seemed to keep themselves to themselves. I think it was around about then that It did kick in for both of us that we are by ourselves and this is going to be harder than we initially thought and dreamed of. Why can't things be easy in life! But never fear my avid readers! All was not lost and as the night went on the events manager apporached us and asked us to take part in a pool shoooting contest! Jeetan jumped to the idea and put his name down. I on the other hand, haven't exactly been blessed with skills of pool so i gave it a miss. However it was with that that we made another friend! Jeetan had balls of steel, I will give him that. He went infront of everyone and started playing in this contest with everyone watching. Now he is no good at pool at all. However the idiot was getting lots of flukey shots and the people at the bar were even impressed and cheered when he seemingly hit these impossible shots. His luck ran out in the end and he failed miserably but while he was shooting pool the girl next to me started chatting to me. She was from Alabama in the states and was an air hostess staying here for a few nights before going off back to the states I think. So I made friends with here and her friend (who was from London) they were both really nice and we ended up chilling most the night at the bar with them and the events organiser there who's this hippy guy from the states named Trent. That was the end of our first night. Oh and I also met this Scottish dude who joined us, who won the pool competition. He was really into footie and supported Rangers and he asked me an interesting footie question which i got wrong. I will now ask all of you and let me know your answer in the comments section.

Who's the most successful football player, to have played in the English, French and Spanish league in the world? He has won world cups, domestic leagues, euro cups etc etc. Clue-he's French.

Anyway here's some funny stuff to tell you about quickly, the German guy in my room is Gay, his name is Roy , so in my head I have nicknamed him "Roy the German Gay." What's even worse is this morning he woke up and and started walking around the room in his Y fronts....lovely! Then he went into the shower and when the shower stopped I was thinking in my head, "Roy please don't walk out naked mate, please, there's no need for it mates" and what did Roy do? He bloody walked out naked in his full glory out the shower this morning. The trials and Tribulations of a backpacker hey? So before I go a quick thank you to everyone who makes comments on the blog, I read them all and its so nice to hear from you and makes me feel nearer to home! Currently the International Comedy Festival is on here in Melbourne yeeeeeaaaahhhh booooyyyy! So we are going to go and check out a few standups acts there tonight from all over the world! It should be brilliant. Until next time folks! Bye bye!

Wet n Wild Adventures!

Firstly thank you to evryone that left me a comment! It was great hearing from all of you! All I ask is that you leave your name after you make a post! Unfortunately i'm not psychic!Based on a wish by my travel partner Jeetan, we booked our coach tickets and park tickets for wet n wild! I have to admit, I had high hopes for this theme park as I do like water rides! When we got there it was very scary as me and Jeetan started to realise that most of the people going there were Teenagers and we were the oldest there! That's a good start to the day! That didn't stop my travel partner from getting really excited with glee! We have to admit both of us had this fear of going to the water park as we thought every guy who whipped his shirt of there was going to be muscle man mania! However most of the men there were distinctly average! So I thought i better just say that scardy cat me did all the rides there. Yeeah thats right I did em all without flinching. My only biggest fear was getting water up my nose! Boy oh boy that hurts. There were loads of cool rides there! The best and scariest being one called the Kamikaze which is like a slide in the shape of a "V" and you are launched from the top of the "V" which is a very steep slope! Its a zero gravity ride whatever that means?! My highlight of the day by far was going down the lazy river there though! Not because it was fun but because I seized the oppurtunity to pounce upon an unsuspecting Jeetan and made him capsize in his ring thingy! Then he tried to get on it again and bellyflopped out of the ring making a watery mess everywhere! Other than that we have been chilling and getting ready to pack out backpacks today as we make our way over to Melbourne! Anyone that knows me will know this is a challenge as I usually pack everything but the kitchen sink, so this should be interesting! No pictures this time round as I doubt anyone wants to see me with my top off swimming! I shall update you all when i'm in Melbourne and let you know what my hostels like and room mates etc, i shall even try and take some pics!Kepp the comments coming! Its great to hear from you! Till then bye bye!

Finally We Arrive!

After 50 hours of travelling, a crazy 20 hour stopover in Dubai and possibly the most draining physical experience one can imagine we have finally arrived in Brisbane! Ok we have been here almost 3 days now but its been hard accessing the net so this is kind of 3 days worth of stuff all packed into 1 post kind of like a 3 part special...like the lord of the rings trilogy or something.
The Flight
Genereally good and Emirates had some real cool food and even gave me a double choc chip cookie so I was a happy bunny! Though the flight wasn't all roses...I had to sit next to Jeetan who was passing wind for most the journey! Arrriving in Dubai was crazy as I didn't get much sleep on the plane, so we got to our friends Hotel and just set off from there, exploring the emirates mall, Jameira Beach and then coming back home to session up! Yes we had bought a bottle off duty free and were intent on finishing it! As the 3 of us tried very hard to accomplish that task it became more apparent that it wasn't going to happen! Plus we had a flight to catch to Singapore where we swapped planes, so after guzzling down some beverages of alcoholic content we went on a night out in Dubai! It was seedy as hell and full of dirty pervy men! Jeetan was in heaven as he realised that there were people in the world just like him, and he wasnt the only one. After that we rushed to the airport, tired , drunk, and worried about the flight ahead. After getting on the plane (just about) the rest of the journey was mostly a blurr.
The 1st Day
We got to Brisbane and on out 1st day we had our first dose of Aussie abuse. There was a barbeque for my cousin it was her 16th Bday and out first meal of the day was surprise surprise a corona beer...even Jeetan had one. The neighbours were invited and when introduced to us they seemed to have fun taking the mic out of our accent and calling us weird Pommies. Though Greg the neighbour did say that indian pommies were better than white pommies. We then went to my Uncles Indian restaraunt. Its the best restaraunt in Brisbane and has hosted many celebs there such as football teams, cricket teams and singers such as the likes of Kylie Minogue. The food was nice to say the least! We then took a walk around the south river bank at night time (pictured above) and saw some very interesting things. As we walked around the river bank unbeknown to us it was a place for couples to be "over affectionate", what was even worse was we were walking around with a camera and must have looked like real dirty perverts!
The 2nd Day
We went into Brisbane down town and to go shopping for shorts and suddenly realised that this massive city only had around 3 mens shops there, the rest were for women. It was quite funny because we asked a shop assistant and when she told us that there was only like 3 shops Jeetan howled with laughter almost like a crazed hyheena and said in his dull voice straight after "what do the men wear here then" the answer if it was me should have been "clothes" but the lady replied politely. Jeetan also had a very close shave in insulting a shop assistant because we asked her how long it would take to walk to a place called the valley. She replied around 25 minutes only for Jeetan to reply "how slow do you walk?" in an insulting tone in his lovely northern thick accent.
Day 3
Chilled with family, booked flights and hostels for Melbourne and played bored games with the kids here (not cos we're boring cos it was raining!). We played frustration, and i got to see a different side to Jeetan (the competitive northern lad one). he was even arguing with children as young as 8 and making up his own rules such as "carry on" if anyone else has heard of this rule please make a comment on this post letting us know what it is, because i think this northen chinese indian white man is making it up.
We have plans to go to wet n wild on saturday. Apologies if this post isn't quite as quirky as me and jeetan are in real life (cos we are right?), but we are both very tired.
Apologies for bad spelling and grammar this blog thing doesnt have a spell check, plus its like 2am in the morning here and we are still suffering from Jet lag and tired! Oh and before we leave something to leave you with! They actually have a lolly pop called "gaytime" down here. Its even advertised and everything! The slogan is something like "when you feel hungry folks, have a gaytime" (in an aussie accent!).
Untill we check in next time "tie me kangaroo down sport" and "G Day"(they actually say that down here!") to all of ya!
